Introducing Vela Wood; Radney Wood Named Partner
January 4, 2016 | By Vela Wood
You may have noticed there’s something different about us.
Last year, we expanded our Dallas office and gave it a fresh makeover, we added a few new faces to our attorney page, and we installed a kegerator. But we saved the best for last. To kick off 2016, we would like to announce our most important change to date. Radney Wood has been named partner. Our firm will now go by Vela Wood or VW (“V-Dub”) for short.
“Rad is a tremendous attorney and a close friend,” said Kevin Vela. “I’m thrilled to have him join the firm as a named partner, and excited about what he’ll help us to accomplish moving forward.”
Radney added, “The VW change is exciting for dozens of reasons but, honestly, the thing I am most excited about is being able to continue to practice law with Kevin. What he has done with Vela Keller is nothing short of amazing. To join forces with Kevin and to help him grow our Vela Wood brand is an incredible opportunity.”
Radney joined the firm in 2015 and focuses his practice on a wide range of legal matters including commercial and business litigation, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, and contract negotiation and interpretation.
Prior to joining the team, Radney worked in the commercial litigation department of Baker Botts where he represented clients at trial and on appeal in both federal and state court, on issues ranging from copyright infringement, breach of contract, and professional malpractice, to trade secret misappropriation and property and construction disputes.
